My name is Alex “Alyosha” Breslav, and I am the wilderness guide and teacher behind Red Oak Nature Connection, a local program connecting young people with the skills they need to feel comfortable in the woods, and in life.

I enjoy guiding young people nature in a safe, responsible, and thoughtful way. I have a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management from Penn State University, and I’ve spent over 15 years learning and teaching nature awareness and wilderness living skills throughout the country at various Outdoor Education Centers, Wilderness Skill Schools, and Traditional Skill Gatherings. I’ve also worked with at-risk youth doing wilderness therapy, and I’m a certified Level II tracker through the Cybertracker Society. I currently live “off-the-grid” with my extra-cool family outside of Washburn, WI.
